We had Christmas Day on Christmas eve...Jonah, Jim and I...huddled around our new table heater...cozy...lovely gifts...relaxing time...leftover curry that Jim made the other night for a spanish love feast we had with like 10 invitees.

I finally have the soundtrack to Amelie!! This music moves me and when I play it I pretend it is the soundtrack to my life...and Jonah brought back lovely goodies for me from England...

Later on the afternoon of the 24th we packed up the car and headed to a posh beach town an hour away. We were invited to spend Christmas with our friends Jesus and Amalia and their family...We have been good friends with everyone in their family for a while now...Pablo, Jesus and Rachel and Willem-mijn their adopted Dutch daughter. They have a mansion at the beach. We went with them to Mass and then had a wonderful dinner in their grand dining room complete with 3 chandeliers, tapestries, flowing drapes, fine art, beautiful sculptures, great fireplace with fire and those curvy, cushy wood with tapestry chairs that you see in museums.
We ate and sang Christmas songs in Spanish and English until 2 in the morning. Then went to bed.
Next morning I got up early to take Kati for a long walk/run/play on the vacant beach. Came back and had breakfast with everyone. Then we opened presents. Here the 3 Kings that visited Jesus are the ones that bring the gifts and actually they come on the 6th of January but I think some people are changing the tradition, like the family we were with...

When the presents were open we had a little outing to see the TV station that Jesus and Amalia are opening. Then came back to eat the leftovers from the night before. Then siesta time and when I woke up it was time to go home.

We drove back to our house and watched Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and ate sandwiches. We tried calling various family members. Talked with Dave and Eileen, Phil, Margaret, My dad...very good Christmas...
